Giving Thanks...

This little cute order is perfectly apt for the day that's in it!

Today our American friends give thanks and celebrate all that has been bestowed to them this year... We don't do that here.... I am sure we are thankful and happy about our blessings but we just don't dedicate a day to it I guess. So having a "thanksgiving" themed post would be strange for me!

But one Momma, who is very thankful, asked me to make up some little cupcakes to send into her baby boy's creche. He's getting bigger and moving rooms and she wanted to acknowledge the great work the creche are doing and thank them for the past while!

So there you have them, little fondant toppers on yummy red velvet and vanilla cupcakes all to say thank you... Such a sweet gesture!

And THANK YOU to all of you too... For stopping by, staying a while and even saying hello! I love hearing from you, seeing you've popped over to my little corner and stayed a spell. It makes my day to know I am sharing with you and being part of this huge community. It's such a great place to be!

Have a great Thursday!

  2. Forget sharing the blog post ... I want to share those cupcakes!! You've become Fondant Queen Hazel! Did you also embellish the hearts with the lace imprint ... well done ;) I want to try making some button cookies (maybe when I make gingerbread men). They're so gosh darn cute. Enjoy your day ... and I'm so glad you made it under the wire for my giveaway. Wendy x

    1. Wendy- would you believe I picked up a little heart plunger set while on holidays for pittance and used them for the first time with these cupcakes. The plunger prints the lace onto the fondant as you cut it! It's ingenious! But if you want to think I went the whole hog and totally laced it up myself, then so be it ;) I have no problem with you thinking I am some creative genius!! hehehe!!

    1. Hiya Cupcake Girl.. the letters are just ones from a Nigella cookie cutter set I got ages ago... they are just the right size for the tops of cupcakes. And the cutters do the edge on the rectangles. Mine are square and circle scone cutters and they come in a pack of 6 but all different sizes... I got them in www.homestoreandmore.ie They look super cute on cupcakes with very little effort! Hope this helps x
